All dogs adopted through the Prairieland Animal Welfare Center are spayed or neutered. There is a 24-hour adoption waiting period after an adoption application is approved before an individual can adopt an animal. The adoption fee for a dog varies depending on the size, breed and how long it has been at the Shelter. All adoptions must include a promise that if the new owner cannot continue to give this pet a home in the future, the animal will be returned to the PAWC so the animal can be offered for adoption to another individual or family.
